PRACTICAL GUIDANCE
Which Type of Keyboard Warrior are You?
The "Quality Over Quantity" Warrior
If you don’t have a lot of time, technical skills, or online followers, spend 20 minutes to an hour every day amplifying pro-Israel posts and preventing the spread of anti-Israel content. You can identify these posts using a tool, such as www.wordsofiron.com, or manually search using relevant hashtags and keywords.
When you find positive content, Like, Comment and/or Share it. Each activity has a corresponding level of impact, based on the message it sends to the platforms’ algorithms about how interesting this content is to users and whether or not it should be promoted.
When you see negative content, including fake news or anti-Israel/Semitic posts, make sure it gets minimal traction by refraining from engaging, reporting it as offensive, and asking others to do the same. Use Digital Dome, an Israeli-made tool that helps you report harmful posts easily.

The "Influence Follower" Warrior
Whether they’re famous in the world of entertainment or politics, every celebrity seems to have an opinion on the conflict - and their posts have the power to impact thousands of others.
If you come across an anti-Israel influencer:
-
Send a short private message – Tell them that you’re disappointed and will unfollow them. Don’t post a comment on their public wall, as this will only amplify their posts.
-
Encourage your network to do the same – While an influencer may not care if they lose one follower, if they see that many of their followers disagree with their stance, they may rethink their position – or at least stop posting damaging content.
If you see posts from pro-Israel influencers:
-
Engage – Like, comment, and share their posts widely, and encourage your friends to do the same so it goes viral.
-
Support – Send them a private message thanking them for their support and encouraging them to keep being an active voice.
If an influencer you follow has not expressed an opinion:
-
Push them – Reach out to the silent celebrities, politicians, and leaders of cultural and educational institutions, encouraging them to support our cause. Don’t call them out publicly - it will embarrass them and have the opposite effect.
-
Make it personal – Keep your message humanitarian and make it matter to them personally. For example, encourage a musician to dedicate a song to a victim who was a fan, ask an athlete to speak out on behalf of a hostage who supports their team, or ask a business leader to post about a kidnapped child who is the same age as their child.
The "Great Debater" Warrior
Social media is full of false and provocative anti-Israel content, which can be especially frustrating if you’re more knowledgeable about the subject than the poster! What should you do in this situation?
-
Ignore it – Don’t get into a public debate, whether it’s in the comment section, in a group, or on X. The more you engage with a post, the more it will be promoted.
-
Go private – If you can’t hold back or think there’s a chance you may be able to influence the poster, invite them into a conversation in a private message. For this to be productive, use non-combative language and allow them to express their perspective.
The "Call Out The Haters" Warrior
People who are actively spreading hate and lies online should be called out for their actions, but it’s important to shift the conversation away from Israel. After the war is over, we want people to have positive associations with Israel, so we need to be careful that Israel isn’t always discussed in a negative context. Highlight the fact that these haters support Hamas in all their cruelty - rape, murder, targeting civilians, and using human shields - without mentioning Israel.
The "Content Creator" Warrior
If you’re creative, talented, and tech savvy, use your skills to create original videos, images, and infographics that are proven to have greater impact and reach than other types of content. Make sure your content is as share worthy as possible, including an interesting hook, supporting details, a central insight, and a call to action. Connect with organizations that can distribute your content more widely, such as Hasbaraa.com.
The "Targeted Activist" Warrior
Our target audience is the Silent Majority of the Western world who haven’t chosen a side because they don’t know enough about the conflict. You can reach them by posting subtle and relatable content in subject-specific online communities and commenting on the walls of Influencers who focus on particular areas of interest. For example, write a personal post on a Facebook group for moms about children being held hostage, and invite other mothers to pray for their safety. Share the stories of the young victims kidnapped from the music festival in an online forum for artists, and call on others to demand that Hamas free the hostages. Post on LinkedIn about a hostage who works in your industry.
